If you want to help fight the grisly South Korean dog and cat meat trade and make a difference in South Korea, here are a few quick actions you can take that could save millions of dogs and cats each year.
California became a sister state to South Korea’s Jeju province in 2005 and to the nation of South Korea in 1987.

South Korea is the World’s 14th largest economy, yet an estimated 2.5 million dogs and thousands of cats are slaughtered and eaten as “health food” each year. These dogs are forced to endure deprivation and unimaginable torment from the moment they are born until the day they are brutally slaughtered. In broad daylight, often in front of other live dogs, they are electrocuted, hanged, beaten or burnt to death. Especially Jeju Province is the “meat dog farm capital of South Korea” where a large percentage of dogs consumed in South Korea are bred and slaughtered. This is because their local government is known to be friendly to these cruel dog farmers. Dogs of Jeju dog farms make long torturous journey from Jeju Island to mainland Korea only to be slaughtered in most brutal and horrific ways.

Thanks for your concern for the dogs and cats that are being slaughtered in S Korea erroneously for mainly male virility. I totally agree, this is a sickening and brutal business, and it makes me sick. However, we need to encourage the governor to discuss this with S Korea. Calling the governor a coward will not inspire him to take action. I think supporting him and urging him is better. Perhaps he didn’t know about the dog the trade when California became a sister state to South Korea’s province. Let’s make him feel good about connecting with South Korea and urging them to make change. This will be more effective. Once he has good relations, and builds affinity it will be easier to apply pressure and bargain for S. Korea to stop the dog meat trade. You can’t get anywhere with Asian business if the person you are dealing with loses face in front of you. He has to be very diplomatic in applying pressure, and I believe this can work. Making threats will get nowhere if people lose face.

I don’t think it’s stupid at all. Serial murderers, mass murderers, child molesters, sadistic torturers and terrorists should be used to benefit normal people and animals. Use them for medical/dental experiments including surgeries instead of torturing animals in these sadistic labs, use them in car safety testing, let them check for land mines for our troops. I can think of many ways they can pay their debts to society instead of giving them three meals a day, allowing them to use the Internet and watch movies on tv, exercise, receive mail, etc. while they’re victims are either dead or living a nightmare because of these vile, evil creeps. When they’re used up, feed what’s left to the animals, if they’re in good health. Use their bones, body parts, etc. to make these medicinal elixirs. And for you out there who think this makes me as bad as them, I say, think and say what you want. I stand my ground on this one. These lowlife subhumans brought it on themselves. They lost they’re humanity as far as I’m concerned when they started their “hobbies” such as murder, torture and the general destruction of innocent people and animals who did them no harm. And don’t play the they’re sick card either. If they’re “sick” do them and all of us a favor and take them out. Time to take out the garbage. Meat from any source needs to be eliminated from human’s diets. Its inhuman, unimaginably cruel, causes the greatest amount of Co2 emissions leading to global warming.. Feeding animals, in order to “feed” humans is a very bad model.. It takes 30 x more land to feed animals, then only 35% of the animal makes it back to the plates of humans. Its a total disgraceful mis-use of land, water, energy which could be redirected to those in need of food. And the kicker is, NONE of this is necessary! If eating meat were necessary then all the vegans and vegetarians on earth would be dead but in fact were doing pretty well. NOTHING seems to be taboo today! ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that moves seems to be “on the menu” soon humans will be eating humans and this will be considered ok too. I remind you that not long ago, smoking was looked at as not only “normal” but it was promoted as being cool and sexy.. TOday cigarette packages have ugly pictures on them and there is no promotion of tobacco products. THis should be the same with animals. Pictures of animals being ripped apart while still conscious with warning labels – heres your bacon… Enjoy your steak!
